Try as I Might
 
The humiliation sets in,
A fool is made of me.
Yet again.
I try to fly away like Superman.
But try as I might,
I hit the ground.
 
My pants rip, I fall down,
They laugh, they point,
They stare, they jeer.
I try to disappear,
To not be seen.
But try as I might,
I am in plain sight.
 
They chase me down,
Down streets, through allies.
Their intention cruel.
I try to outrun,
Run at light speed.
But try as I might,
I get caught.
