Shades
The darkness befalls me,
As it has many a time.
For once it was gone,
But returned it has.
Will it stay?
Or will it go?
If it stays,
As I once thought it would,
It would mean a life of suffering.
If it leaves,
As it once did,
I will be happy.
Never am I truly happy,
As when the darkness lifts.
Happiness I once had,
But darkness befell me.
Happiness I had once again,
But darkness befell me.
This shade of darkness,
Not as dark as before.
But it can darken.
And if it does,
I will be suffering once again.
And this suffer,
May not last.
