Ray of Light
Walking by on a dark, dreary day.
I see the sun brighten the lonely path.
I step into the sun,
I find my soul.
I stop and wait,
Resting in the light.
I walked in the shadows for years,
To find this place.
A place with no dark,
No demons, no death.
I like it here, but it will not last.
The sun shall set,
Sinking out of sight.
The darkness befalls me,
My shadow and I are one.
My demons hunt me again,
Death trails behind me.
Instead of walking,
This dull and morbid life,
I wait for the sun,
For it to rise again.
I want this dark to leave,
To find my soul once again.
