Behind the Door

The importance of time in one’s life,
Is equal to that of life itself.
As I sat and thought so deep,
Of how and when that we could meet.
I watched time pass, hour by hour and day by day,
Waiting for the time to see you again.
All conversation leads to a halt,
With nobody at fault.
I think of times not long past,
Time I sat and pondered so,
Your mind and mouth did wander.
Now I fear I spent too long,
The chance I thought of once before,
Is nothing short of a closing door.
The time I missed so short ago,
Will come no more but in my mind.
Yet the door so closing is open still,
Te choice is mine on what I try.
Enter now and get kicked out,
Or miss my chance forever.
My time to choose approaches quick,
My decision never final.
A hint in words I leave for you,
The choice now yours to make.
The door is almost closed now,
If I made it through I wonder.
Inside I can live in peace,
Outside I live to find another,
Somewhere, sometime.
